Located alongside the Schell Country Depot at 47 Edward Street, just north of our Stouffville Main Store, our Design Centre serves both our Stouffville and Sutton locations. We work with homeowners and builders on projects ranging from windows and doors to kitchens and full home updates, supporting both renovations and new custom home builds.
Our team provides detailed estimating for new construction, renovations, decks, and fences, as well as design services for kitchens, bathrooms, and custom windows and doors. With experienced designers, quality materials, and professional installation, we help bring every project from concept to completion with confidence and care.

Our History
Purchased in April of 1922 by Wesley Schell, the “Stouffville Planing Mill” commenced the birth of Schell Lumber. The mill was founded to supply local farmers with materials to build farms and repair wagons, and was soon renamed to Schell Lumber in 1928 after Wes took full ownership of the company. He eventually handed the company down to his sons Percy, who ran the store and office, and Harry, who ran “Harry’s Workshop” until his passing in October 2019. Percy, now 92 years old, still works four days a week in the office and is still a vital part of Schell Lumber’s operations. Read more.
